Manchester Gothic Arts Group
M:GAG was formed in 2005 from the shared interests of friends Kolyn Amor, Matthew Carson and Liz Watkin (nee Yates). The three founder members were joined by Neil Watkin soon after their inaugural 'Unmasked' exhibition with Julie Dawson joining in October 2016.
The idea developed from the ARA , the monthly club event held at Sacred Trinity church close to Manchester city centre.
The three principles of the group are the exploration of Gothic, artistically and spiritual expression producing a wide range of work in different media.
Traditional arts such as painting, writing and performance combine with more innovative forms of expression such as photography, digital art and installations.
The M:GAG motto is 'A POSSE AD ESSE' , ' From Possibility To Reality'
